IPR Curriculum

January 26, 2023

The Thailand Department of Intellectual Property (DIP) (2010 – 2010)

This one-year project, funded by Department of Intellectual Property, under the Ministry of Commerce, researched best practices in teaching and learning on Intellectual Property (IP). A model IP curriculum was developed and pilot-tested in basic and vocational schools.

The project team worked closely with the Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC) and the Vocational Education Commission (VEC). The team conducted on-site seminars in five provinces and organized three teacher trainings for 104 teachers. It collected on- site data for evaluation and held a final seminar chaired by Mr. Alongkorn Poolabutr. Key project outputs included: comparative research on IPR education in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Japan, Korea, Singapore, and Vietnam; an IPR curriculum aligned with the Thai basic education curriculum; teaching materials, including a teacher handbook, a student handbook, readings, and presentations; a second IPR curriculum aligned with the Thai vocational education curriculum; train-the-trainer workshops for teachers; and a stakeholder workshop.
