Designing the Lao PDR National Tourism Strategy

January 26, 2023

New Zealand AID (NZAID) (2008 – 2008)

With funding support from New Zealand AID (NZAID), Kenan worked with the Lao PDR National Tourism Administration (LNTA) to design a five-year, US $4.2 million program to strengthen and build the human and institutional capacity of the LNTA.

The project developed models of best-practices for pro-poor, communitybased tourism and value chain interventions in the provinces of Luang Namtha, Xieng Khouang, Bolikhamxay, and Khammouan. Kenan’s team of international and local consultants conducted hundreds of on-site interviews and stakeholder meetings with the LNTA in each target province, with a final report provided to NZAID and LNTA that same year.
