The Thailand Department of Intellectual Property (DIP) (May 2009 – May 2011)
Kenan, in collaboration with the Thai Department of Intellectual Property (DIP), Ministry of Commerce, implemented a creative economy curriculum project as part of the government’s mission to develop Thailand into one of ASEAN’s creative economy hubs.
The project aimed to research good educational practices for developing a creative economy, develop a standard curriculum in alignment with Thai standards, and pilot that curriculum in the provinces of Bangkok, Rayong, Chiang Mai, Khon Kaen, and Nakhon Si Thammarat. The curriculum was adopted by the Office of Basic Education Commission (OBEC), the Office of Vocational Education Commission (OVEC), and the Office of Higher Education Commission (OHEC) and will be implemented in schools, colleges, and universities nationwide. Throughout the project, Kenan engaged educational stakeholders, built awareness, and managed the project’s goals and outcomes. As a result, over three hundred teachers participated in the professional development workshop and are now implementing creative economy curriculum in their classrooms.
